Zandvlei Estuary Nature Reserve
About
Cape Town is unique due to its high concentration of local flora and fauna species. Our nature reserves protect and conserve our city’s natural areas and biodiversity heritage. Zandvlei Estuary Nature Reserve is within walking distance of Steenberg and Lakeside Station. The reserve has an Environmental Education Centre that offers various programmes for learners.
The reserve has a jetty, bird hides and picnics sites, and offers the opportunity for activities such as boating, walking and windsurfing.
The Friends of the Zandvlei Trust help with conservation, education and awareness projects.
